I just bought the game and I want to play online with my buddy, how do I invite then to a game? I don’t see anything in the options menu for it?

Coop will not be available until after you complete the opening mission. This takes about 45 mins to complete. Once this is done, you will see a new option in the map menu of the game where you can Invite friends to your coop session.
Once you complete the liberate Dutch’s island mission the new online tab will be available to you in the menu.
