I bought Destiny 2 back in 2017 on PC through the Battle.net launcher. I played through the base game and the first DLC, but I haven’t touched it since then. Now, I’ve decided to redownload it on Steam, but I’m feeling overwhelmed. It’s turned into a very complex game with so much content that I’m having a hard time navigating the menus and understanding the director. I’ve only got the basic free-to-play version and the very first annual pass. I’m looking for some fun, replayable activities to help me dive back into the game. What should I do?

You can start with a tutorial quest in the Cosmodrome which will teach you the basics. After that, the Shadowkeep and Beyond Light campaigns are free for everyone. Seriously, watching or reading a new player guide will give you a huge leg up since everything feels like a different game right now!
The Director is like your mission hub and galaxy map combined. It can look scary if you’re new, but you just need to click around a bit to figure it out. Start by choosing some quests; they guide you to new missions and help you ease into the game. Playing through the main story is a great way to get reoriented!
For some replayable content, go for Vanguard Strikes! They’re fun and work well for new players, plus they’re great to jump into.
Yeah, and since you’re on Steam, check out places like CDKeys. Many of the DLCs are super cheap! Totally worth it.
First off, I suggest you check out the New and Returning Player Guide on Bungie’s website. It’s super helpful for getting a grip on all the changes since you last played! You’ll find a lot of useful info there.
When you hold Tab, it opens up the Director. From there, head to the Vanguard section and hit the middle icon to start Strikes. That’ll give you a playlist of activities that are good for free-to-play players. You can also access most content through the Legends option.
Totally agree! Just dive into those story quests and you’ll get more comfortable with the gameplay before trying anything more complex.
