I’m new to Warframe and trying to get a handle on pricing my items for trading. I was told a guy that 100 pieces of prime junk are worth 8 platinum, but I’m not sure that’s accurate since he’s trying to buy from me. I plan to start trading more seriously once I put in around 20 more hours into the game, but I would love some insights on how pricing works since the Warframe market is really confusing to me!

Warframe’s market might look complicated at first, but it’s pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it! It’s like a forum where players list what they want to sell or buy and at what price. And yeah, that 100 prime junk for 8 plat is pretty ridiculous. You might want to check other listings to get a better sense of what’s fair.
For real, it also changes based on the rarity of the item you’re selling.
Here’s the deal with trading: Late-game players usually have a ton of prime parts accumulated, and they can sell full sets. For example, right now, a full Cedo Prime set goes for about 80 plat. Early on, though, you’ll mainly have ‘prime junk.’ It’s all about what players are willing to pay based on the ducat cost of the item. For instance, if you’re trading a part worth 100 ducats, expect around 8 plat. So if you’ve got 6 Acceltra Prime Barrels, you could sell those for about 48 plat depending on demand.
I totally get your confusion! I mixed up quantities and platinum prices too when I started. Don’t be hard on yourself!
