Hey everyone! I’m a first-time player and really loving Baldur’s Gate 3 until I hit this frustrating wall in the gauntlet of Shar. I’ve tried everything but I’m lost with this endless rat fight at the base of the statue. Can someone please break down the steps for me, like you would for a little kid? I’m begging you! I’ve already defeated the orthon, completed the trials, and gathered the umbral gems, but these rats are driving me to the brink of quitting! Do I really need to deal with them to finish the Shar temple? Any advice or encouragement would be super appreciated!

The rats are actually not necessary to progress; they lead to a bonus boss. Usually, if you kill a certain number of them, it changes the fight up a bit. Did you try dealing with the rats wandering around in the temple? That might help trigger the next phase. You got this!
Awesome! I’m so relieved to hear that! I think I got a bit confused with the other threads that made it sound essential. Thanks for clarifying!
