I’ve hooked the Organ Grinder three times this week using a Mark 4 reel with advanced drag, but he’s gotten away each time after over 400 casts! I just spent an hour and a half trying to hook him again, only to lose him. I’ve managed to earn my lunker title and caught every other fish in the game, but this guy is giving me a run for my money. Is there something I’m missing? Why is the Organ Grinder so much tougher compared to the other local legends, which I hooked in under 50 casts each? I have two Wavy Willards and about 12 Axolotls, but I think I’m starting to go a little crazy!

Catching the Organ Grinder really comes down to RNG and luck with his jumps. From my experience, he can jump 6-7 times in a row at the start, and if he makes big jumps, it becomes really tough to reel him in. It took me 7 tries to finally catch him, which is wild considering I snagged the other two local legends on my first try! Good luck!
I managed to catch all of them within a couple of hours, but the Organ Grinder was the only one I lost at first. Ironically, I hooked him again on the very next cast and nailed it that time! I caught two locals on common bait but used improved bait for the Organ Grinder since I was running out of common stuff.
You definitely need some luck with those jumps! If he swings too much, it’s game over because reeling him in gets super slow, even with a Mark 4 and advanced drag. I wasted 500 improved baits on another legendary fish because it was just warping everywhere. The moment I finally caught him, he was moving like a Gulpy!
I found that using a high control freak on the left stick has really changed my fishing game. I typically go high on the right and low on the left, but switching it up helped a lot!
Is Wavy Willard easier or about the same as other local legends from your experience?
