Hey everyone! I’ve been diving deep into my favorite game and had an epic night on a lively server, running with a bunch of other players engaged in events like Eviction Notice. It was great, but here’s the kicker: I noticed it takes me way longer to take down enemies than others around me, even though I’m at level 150 and using the Valkyrie gatling laser with some damage perk cards.
While I’s need about 50 shots to bring down a super mutant, a level 400 player beside me wipes them out in seconds! I can’t shake the feeling that I might be doing something wrong. Are there particular perk cards I should focus on besides Expert and Master Heavy Gunner? Do mutations come into play here? And how does weapon scaling with level work? I’m hoping to be a more effective player in these events, daily ops, and even raids in the future. Any tips would be super appreciated!

A lot of players use optimized crit builds, which can really amplify damage. Check out channels like Angry Turtle or Glass Gaming on YouTube for some great tips on setting up your build.
Thanks! I’ll definitely check them out to get a better understanding.
Your perks really matter! You won’t maximize your potential until level 300 when you unlock all 6 legendary perk slots. Focus on having your Strength, Charisma, Intelligence, Luck, and Agility perks leveled. People often run Furious weapons along with Guerrilla and Gunslinger perks for extra damage stacks. Cards like Down Ranger and Bloody Mess can also help a ton!
Wow, didn’t realize how much went into it! I’ll need to rethink my build with all this info.
The spin-up time with heavy guns like the Valkyrie can really slow you down. While it can take a few shots to kill a super mutant, other weapons like .50 cal or LMGs have better DPS without that annoying spin-up time. If you’re using VATS, consider switching to something like a plasma caster; it can be really effective!
Gotcha! I did notice the spin-up was a pain. I love heavy guns but maybe it’s time for a little variety.
If you’re using heavy guns, look to max out Heavy Gunner perks from Strength, and don’t forget stabilized from Intelligence and one gun army from Luck. If you’re targeting weak spots, tailor your perks accordingly! And hey, a pepper shaker can really pack a punch this patch!
Good to know! I’ve been kind of winging it without focusing on a specific build.
Are these crit builds effective against all enemy types, or just specific ones?
