I’m pretty new to Minecraft and having trouble figuring out how to add shaders to my game. I can’t seem to find a button or option for shaders and I’m unsure if shaders work on both Bedrock and Java editions of the game. I tried checking out some tutorials but ended up more confused. Help a newbie out? Thanks! P.S., English isn’t my first language, so I hope this makes sense!

First off, you need to have a shader mod that allows your game to read and display shaders. For Java Edition, I highly recommend using the Iris mod for shaders. Not only is it user-friendly, but it also works alongside the Sodium mod, which is like a performance booster for your game! Look it up and download it to get those shaders working.
If you’re trying this and still can’t get it working, always double-check that you’re using Java Edition, as shaders don’t work on Bedrock. Once you’ve confirmed that, try following a step-by-step guide online specifically for the Iris or Sodium mod installations.
For shaders on Java, you’ll need to use the Iris mod. It’s paired with Sodium and Sodium Extra, which really kick up the game performance, even better than Optifine, especially on modern systems. Install those, and you’ll be on your way to enjoying shaders!
Totally agree! Optifine’s kind of old news compared to this setup, especially if you’re on a newer machine.
