Hey Mythic Raiders! I’m trying to figure out how everyone felt about the current raid. The name escapes me, but I’ve done normal and heroic modes. My last mythic guild wasn’t as enjoyable as when I first joined, so my memory might be a bit foggy. I personally think this raid is one of the weaker ones in recent memories; it really felt like there was just too much trash in the first half, and most of the environment and story didn’t appeal to me either.
My biggest issue has to be with the boss fights. The first couple of weeks, I complained about how dull and repetitive the fights seemed, especially since quite a few of them mirrored the normal mode. I thought the better bosses were in the second half, but even then, my grievances crept in. Princess was my favorite, and I found Brood to be alright, but most of the others didn’t stand out for me. The heroic council fight felt like a real low point with boring intermissions and everything dragging on without much excitement.
When watching the race for world first, some fights seemed a lot more dynamic and engaging! I’m curious how you mythic players felt during your progress and if you found the encounters more enjoyable and well-rounded!

I found Broodtwister frustrating mainly because of its Weak Aura mechanics. Kyveza has become one of my favorites for how they set it up. Silken Court did a great job with the scripted mechanics, but I wasn’t a fan personally. The second half of the raid definitely stepped it up, especially Ansurek which was tough but enjoyable! The difficulty why there’s such a jump after boss 4 felt oddly placed. Overall, I think it was a solid raid, and I liked that it wasn’t overly reliant on WeakAuras.
In my opinion, the later bosses had more depth. I even think Broodtwister is getting more hate than it deserves; my only issue was lag. Early fights didn’t do much to please me due to their tuning, which could have turned off a lot of players. Council fights, while not my favorite type, still felt well done. I just wish the last phase of the Queen lasted a bit longer for a more intense finish!
Honestly, I thought the raid was fine but my guild really split on opinions. Up until Broodtwister, it felt easy, but then we hit a wall with some of the counts. I agree that Silken Court had a horrible progression; it felt way too punishing for minor mistakes. Ansurek was really fun, though! I think what bothered me most was how the fights built up to a point that felt overly difficult as you proceed. I think the back half definitely had its redeeming parts, but still, seeing two good bosses out of eight makes for a tough experience.
A lot of people I know just found the first few bosses too easy and then it felt like a bad jump up in difficulty with Brood. There were definitely some enjoyable fights, but I thought there were too many annoying mechanics right after the early phases. I’d have to say I liked Queen as a final boss, though; it had a nice touch, just the phases could have used more time.
I’d say my experience was pretty middling. Most fights were decent but not phenomenal. Broodtwister was definitely the worst for me due to the complicated add mechanics. On the upside, Kyveza was a standout boss! Silken Court had its fun moments, although as part of the melee team, I felt underutilized. Overall, I’m looking forward to the next raid once we finish this one!
Love your insights! I agree, there are really only a couple of solid bosses in this raid.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I felt a similar way, especially with that difficulty curve being so wacky. It made the early fights forgettable while the later ones just dragged on.
