Blizzard has made it clear they don’t want to implement loot filters in Diablo 4 to ensure that all items retain some value when salvaged. I’m curious about how they could enhance the salvaging experience without these filters. I have a few ideas, such as giving salvaged legendary and unique items a tiny chance to provide a Resplendent Spark or letting these items drop in-game currency. I also think it’d be useful to add salvage-anvils at boss arenas so players can salvage right after defeating a boss instead of having to teleport back to town. What do you think could make salvaging more interesting?

What if we could have a loot filter that allows us to set certain rarity levels to auto-salvage items? Like, if an item drops and falls below our set preferences, it becomes material instead of an item drop. It’s basically a solution to a problem that doesn’t necessarily exist; players just want a break from constantly teleporting back to town.
I think adding an option for pets to auto-salvage items would be a game-changer! Players should be able to set it so they automatically salvage anything that isn’t a greater affix item as soon as it hits the ground, making the whole process smoother.
I get your point, but I find those pets a bit too slow to be useful in practice.
I wish that were the case! But knowing Blizzard, we’d probably just get a “salvage pet” for a steep price instead.
The idea of having legendary and unique items drop in-game currency is pretty wild! Though some might call it a stretch, it could help with player retention. We should earn something for our efforts besides just materials.
I completely agree, it seems like a high hope! But hey, dreaming is part of the fun.
Exactly! Players don’t really need a full-fledged filter, they just want an easier way to handle item drops. Sometimes a simple solution is all that’s needed.
