How Can I Stop Losing and Start Climbing in League?

-

I’ve been playing League of Legends for about 3 years now, and after making good progress last year, I jumped into ranked play. At the start of the 2025 season, I was placed in Iron 1, but I climbed up to Silver 1 really fast. I was just one win away from Gold, but ever since then, it’s been rough. I feel like I’m being sabotaged by my teammates. Either someone tilts and starts inting, or a fed bruiser in the top lane pushes into our base without any help, or I just end up with a jungler who feeds and does nothing. I main Support/ADC equally well, but I need some genuine advice on how to get back to climbing instead of falling down rank after rank.

Honestly, this patch has made solo queue pretty rough right now. The importance of team fights is huge, and if your team doesn’t react well, you can find yourself just defending for ages. I recommend taking a break from ranked play for a couple of weeks until players adapt to the changes. Team comps are impacting more than before, and counter jungling now relies more on killing the enemy jungler instead of just stealing camps. Focus on surviving in the early game and building up your items for objective fights later. Once you have that lead, play it safe – it’s better to be smart than greedy right now!

For sure! If you play support, try to find an ADC you can trust to duo with. Right now, ADCs are really feeling the burn. Just take it slow; play smart to avoid dying and build up your items. Once you secure a lead, stay safe and don’t overextend because the enemy team will likely get impatient and can punish you hard!

It sounds like you’re really frustrated, but it’s key to focus on your own gameplay rather than how others perform. If you find yourself going from Silver to Bronze, it might indicate you’re tilting and queuing up too quickly after losses. Set a clear goal, like reaching Gold, and adjust your mindset. If you maintain a win rate of about 60%, you can expect to reach Gold after around 100 games. Take a step back, work on your micro play, and think about your macro strategy. Always look for win conditions, focus on winning your lane, and avoid the trolls. Consistency is crucial, so consider playing about seven games a day to optimize your performance!
