Hey folks! I’m finally ready to upgrade to a PS5, but I have a quick question about selling my PS4. If I sign out from my account on the PS4, will the next owner be able to see my Sign-in ID on the sign-in screen?

To keep your info safe, definitely do a full factory reset on your PS4. This will wipe all your data, including your accounts and payment methods, so the next owner won’t have access to anything personal.
Here’s my recommended approach: Get your PS5 set up, connect both the PS4 and PS5, then transfer all your data over. After ensuring the PS5 works just fine, reset your PS4 and you’re good to sell or gift it. Just a heads up, if you have a PSVR1, you’ll need an adapter to use it with the PS5!
Ahh, I was going to sell my PS4 first! Thanks for the heads up!
Isn’t most data on PS4 linked to the email you used?
Yeah, a factory reset is a must! If you don’t do that, your info will still be stored on the PS4, so be sure to run that reset before selling it.
This is the way!
