I recently got a PS5 Slim and it’s super quiet when idle, but I notice it makes some noise while playing games, whether it’s Silent Hill 2 or Batman: Arkham Asylum. I get that the fan needs to run, but I’m curious if anyone has tips or tricks for minimizing that noise, either through storage options or settings adjustments. It’s perfectly silent when on the Home Screen or watching TV, even with the volume off, so I’m just looking for ways to keep it quieter during gameplay.

It’s totally normal to hear some fan noise while gaming. The console needs to cool down, and a little sound means it’s working as it should. Just don’t stress about it too much!
Have you tried playing with headphones? That way, you might not even notice the fan noise while you’re immersed in your game!
If it really bugs you, just remember that you could always take the fan out… just kidding! But for real, some noise is inevitable, especially if you decide to upgrade to a disc drive later on.
Haha, good one! But yeah, I guess I should get used to it.
Yeah, I’ve noticed my PS5 does the same. It’s just part of the experience, I guess!
