I used to be able to record in-game voice chat on my Xbox whenever I pressed the capture button, but I can’t remember how I did it. I recently got a new Xbox and switched accounts, and now I’m having trouble. Every guide I read says it’s not possible, but I’m sure I did it before. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Just to clarify, on the Xbox, the internal recording function won’t pick up voice chat; it only records game audio. To get both game audio and voice chat, your best bet would be to use an external capture card that can handle the HDMI output and mix in any external microphones you might have for your own voice.
Unfortunately, you can’t record your own voice directly on the console. You can only capture the voices of other players in a party or game chat, which gets mixed with the game audio through your headset. If you want to capture your own voice as well, you would ideally need a capture card and a mic connected to a computer for that setup.
