How Can I Quickly Improve at Apex Legends?

-

My friend promised to buy me an in-game item if I started playing Apex Legends, so I picked Octane since he looks cool and is super fast. My main game is THE FINALS, which I was told is similar to Apex, but Apex feels way tougher—small mag sizes, unforgiving weapons, and super skilled players who don’t mess around. Still, I love the fast movement and crazy plays with character abilities. What’s the best way to get good quickly and stop dying all the time?

You should definitely watch some recoil control tutorials on YouTube since each weapon has unique recoil patterns. Also, practice in modes like Gun Run, TDM, and Control where you can respawn a lot and get tons of fights in without penalty. Movement is huge too—wall bouncing and other advanced techniques can really give you an edge in fights.

Honestly, the best way to get better is to just play a ton and focus on different parts of the game step by step. Learn the basics like aiming, strafing, using cover, and how your legend’s abilities work. As you get familiar with the maps, your positioning will improve naturally. Setting small goals helps too—like hitting a certain number of kills in mixtape mode or winning a game without going down. Once you’re comfy with Octane, try other legends so you understand what your teammates and opponents can do.

The quickest way I’ve found to improve is hitting the firing range consistently. Spend time getting familiar with different guns and finding your favorite setups. Then practice your movement—you can chain slides, zips, and repositioning in really fluid ways. Also learn about cover types and positioning so you can choose better fights and use the environment to your advantage. Picking one legend to really focus on at first helps a lot too, especially ones like Wraith or Pathfinder who can push aggressively and adapt well.

If you want a solid legend to learn first, Pathfinder is a great pick. Getting good at his grapple jump (jump right as the grapple hits the ground to launch yourself super high and far) makes movement way easier and helps you pick up other skills. This can keep you alive longer and make fights more manageable.
