How can I play the Minecraft Beta on my Steam Deck?

I’m trying to play the Minecraft preview/beta version on my Steam Deck, but I can’t find a download option in the launcher. I tried using an APK file, but it keeps giving me an ‘invalid APK’ error. If anyone has any suggestions on how to access the preview/beta version using this launcher, I’d really appreciate it!

You might want to check out Prism Launcher as an alternative. It offers a flatpak and a standalone executable version that could help you run the beta.

I need the Bedrock preview, not Java, though.

Currently, the beta doesn’t work on the launcher due to some graphical updates that broke things. But once it’s fixed, you’ll need to add “-d” to the launch command to see the option to enable beta releases in settings.

What do you mean by the launch command?

Your best option would probably be to run it on Android using Waydroid. Just search for Waydroid on your Steam Deck, and you should be able to get the Minecraft beta that way.
