Hey everyone! I recently got my hands on a Japanese Super Famicom while on vacation in Japan, and it came with a few games. I’m currently living in Germany and heard that there are some modifications or possibly even 3D printing options that could allow me to play German games on my Japanese console. Can anyone provide some guidance on how to achieve this? Would really appreciate any help! Thanks!

To tackle the region lock and the 50/60Hz issue, you’ll want to look into a mod known as the “SuperCIC.” There are various options available for this mod. For example, check out these links for more information on kits you can buy:
– [Custom Mod Kit](https://www.willsconsolemodifications.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&language=en-gb&product_id=74)
– [Silent Modding](https://www.silentmodding.com/en/snes-picocic-region-free-mod.html)
That said, if you’re looking for better performance, I recommend getting NTSC games or a flashcart as they will play more smoothly on your system, as designed!
If you want a simpler solution, just grab a flashcart from AliExpress! It can save you some hassle and lets you play a ton of games. But I get the desire for that “retro” experience—there’s nothing like the feeling of inserting an original cartridge and diving into a game! 😄
Thanks a Lot!
