I’m really struggling with a fear of caves in Minecraft. Every time I encounter one while exploring or staircase mining, I just turn around and leave. Even though I play with keepinventory, I’m overly anxious about facing mobs, so much so that I won’t go into caves unless I’ve got diamond armor. I could really use some advice on how to deal with this irrational fear of caves and gain some confidence. Any tips?

Honestly, you should try gearing up with Netherite Armor enchanted with Protection IV. Bring along a stack of porkchops or golden carrots for food, and you’ll feel nearly invincible. Those mobs won’t stand a chance against you—getting hit would barely even scratch your armor!
Always keep a good supply of torches and make sure you know how to use your shield effectively. That way you can defend against any mobs that might jump out at you! It’ll definitely help you feel more secure when exploring caves.
One trick is to find a big open cave and bring a water bucket for easy escapes. Make sure to take as many torches as you can and just sprint down without stopping! Light up the area as you go, and as long as you keep moving, you should be fine. You might get hit by a few arrows, but don’t worry too much about it. After you light up enough of the cave, leave for a bit so the mobs can despawn. If that sounds too harsh, consider using a mod that boosts your brightness; it really helps to see what you’re up against! Good luck!
Let me tell you about my experience. Back in my early days on the 360, I was terrified of ghasts—so much that I was slabbing the entire Nether to stop them from spawning! Eventually, I learned to move when they attacked and took them down from a distance with my bow. The same goes for caves; get prepared and just go for it. After venturing in a few times, I think you’ll find your fear fading away!
Thank you!
