I’m having a tough time getting Balthazar’s Door open. I didn’t roll a natural 20, but I still have Guidance, an Elixir that gives me +3, and my Dexterity modifier is +4. Unfortunately, that’s not enough to hit the DC of 30. Any suggestions? I’m playing a level 8 Human Monk, and I’ve already messed up on the lights puzzle.

You could try using a Scroll of Knock if you have access to one. That should help bypass the lock entirely, making your life a lot easier!
If you have a Rogue in your party, they could use their expertise in Sleight of Hand to help with the lock. That might give you a better chance to succeed!
Have you thought about getting a bard or wizard to cast Knock? It would be the easiest route. Otherwise, look for some gear that boosts your ability scores, like something that enhances Dexterity or gives you advantage on checks. Let me know if you find any good gear!
