I’m currently stuck in Gold rank in Rocket League and I’m looking for tips on how to not only reach Platinum but also maintain that rank once I get there. I feel like I sometimes lose due to my teammates leaving the game. Any advice would be great!

Don’t forget to use ball cam effectively and avoid chasing the ball too much. It can make a huge difference in your positioning! And if you’re in a match that seems unwinnable (especially if teammates start leaving), consider forfeiting for your own mental health—sometimes it’s better than dragging out a lost cause!
As someone who just broke through the Gold barrier, I’d say, prioritize your touches on the ball. Always aim to hit it in a way that either clears danger or directs it towards the goal. Avoid going for aerials too often; it’s more important to make good ground plays. Also, practice in training packs so you can warm up before playing ranked games. Staying consistent in your play is what will help you stay in Platinum once you reach it.
To really improve, focus on ball control instead of just smashing the ball away. Try dribbling and flicking to keep possession, and make sure you only challenge once your teammate is ready. Good rotations are key; stay near your teammate but avoid crowding them. And remember to gather boost pads as you rotate! Overcommitting can lead to bad defensive plays, so let your teammates handle the ball first if they’re in a good position.
