I’m a 22-year-old student looking to play the Dead Space Remake on my Steam Deck without having to lug my gaming rig to university every term. I’ve found this community to be super helpful, and I’d love your advice on what settings I should use to keep the game running at least around 35 FPS, so I can read the text on-screen without any issues.

Honestly, you might enjoy playing the original Dead Space on the Steam Deck instead. It runs at a smooth 60 FPS with max settings most of the time, which could give you a way better experience than struggling with the remake.
