Hey gamers, I really need some help here. My Series X has been overheating like crazy! For the past week, I can barely play for 10 minutes before it kicks me back to the home screen, complaining about being too hot. I’ve tried laying it on its side to enhance airflow, plus I keep the area clear of clutter. I also have two fans running in the room, but it’s still not helping. What am I doing wrong? I should mention that I’m currently unemployed and can’t afford any pricey solutions. Any advice would be super appreciated!

I totally get your frustration. I had my Series X running hot during lockdown too! I cleaned it out from the back and got a ton of dust out. It’s pretty easy, and there are plenty of videos showing how to do it. Just keep in mind that over time, the thermal paste on the processor can dry out, which is crucial for cooling. If you’re up for it, refreshing the thermal paste will help, but you’ll need special tools and some extra care. Cleaning it regularly definitely helps though!
It sounds like you might need to clean out some dust from your Series X. I had a similar issue last month, and it turned out the intake vents were completely clogged. If you’re comfortable with it, open it up and vacuum out the dust. If you don’t have the tools, you can use cotton swabs through the holes to remove the dust gently. Just be careful!
Awesome, thank you so much dude, I’ll give that a try!
A little hack I use is to take a hair dryer and give it a blast every week to blow out the dust. It helps keep things cool without opening it up every time.
