Hey folks, I’m stuck in low ELO and dropped League for a few years. I’ve mostly played support, but now I really want to learn to play ADC or MID—preferably ADC. I feel like I need to relearn the basics and fundamentals all over again. Does anyone know of good video series, pro gameplay commentaries, or solid advice for someone starting fresh to climb out of low ELO? If you had to relearn League from scratch to get better at carrying games, what would you focus on?

If you don’t like playing ADC or MID right now, you could try support or even top lane to mix things up. Honestly, if you find yourself struggling on those too, jungle is a good alternative because the gameplay is quite different and impactful. Since you mentioned not liking top lane and getting bored playing support every game, jungle could be a fresh way to practice game sense and decision-making.
For serious improvement, some folks hire high ELO coaches or use resources like Skill Capped. Personally, I went from Gold to Diamond over the course of a year by focusing on 1 champion and grinding a ton with structured learning. It’s a big commitment but results come if you stick with it.
Honestly, I’d say avoid ADC in low ELO. It can be really frustrating since you don’t have as much impact early on if your team isn’t coordinated. Jungle tends to have more carry potential there, so maybe give that a shot. It’s a different style and can help you influence the whole map, not just your lane.
Yeah, jungle sounds interesting. I haven’t played it for a while. Do you have any solid jungle guides to recommend?
If you’re aiming to get better at ADC, I recommend checking out XFSN Saber on YouTube. He has some solid educational content specifically for ADC players. ADC is a pretty mechanical role where you really need to get a feel for positioning, trading, and timing your attacks. Starting with a beginner-friendly champion like Miss Fortune can help you get the basics down. But honestly, just play whatever you enjoy—it makes practice way more fun!
My take is to just jump in and learn by playing. If you keep a strong, positive mentality, you’ll start to recognize what kinds of decisions win or lose games. Relearning fundamentals this way takes some grinding but it’s effective if you’re patient and keep analyzing your gameplay.
I agree about support getting repetitive. I’ll give jungle a try. No idea where to start though, so a guide would be helpful!
