I’m trying to introduce my fiancée to Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) on PC, and I’m looking for some guidance. She’s never played a PC game before and has recently tried out ESO after I convinced her to give it a shot. I’m still getting used to PC gaming myself and struggle a bit with teaching, as I was more experienced on Xbox (I was level 810 back in Summerset Isles/Elsweyr). During our play session, she had some fun but found it challenging to navigate the mouse controls. We’re located in PST and typically work banker’s hours, so our playtime will be limited. I’m hoping to find guilds for new or returning players that can help her learn the ropes. Any tips for someone who’s returning after 3 years and doesn’t have experience with add-ons would also be amazing!

A good way to start is by exploring the starting zones! You’ll meet a lot of players who are looking for guild members, and you can find guilds listed in the guild finder tool in-game. Checking out player houses can be engaging and might hook her interest even more. Good luck with your gaming journey!
If the keyboard and mouse controls seem too tough for her, consider connecting a controller. It’s how I play too; I find it more comfortable! Just keep in mind that if you want to do PvP or high-speed stuff, the keyboard might be better. But for casual play, a controller works fine.
For add-ons, I recommend using Minion. It’s an add-on manager that makes updating, downloading, and deleting add-ons a breeze. Start with the most downloaded add-ons and avoid overwhelming yourself with too many. Since you’re tech-savvy, setting them up might not take long. Just help her get used to the camera movements; it will feel strange at first, but she’ll adjust. And remember, you can also use a controller on PC just like on Xbox! That might ease the transition for her a lot.
My wife just got into the game too! We’ve been taking it easy in the starting zones, doing some world bosses and quests together. If you’d like to team up, send me a message on Discord @bearlikelion. It’s great to have someone to group with while she’s learning!
I started a guild to help players like your fiancée! I can link you up or play with you both if that works better. I understand the time constraints with your work schedules. Just let me know, and I’d be happy to assist! I love helping new players get comfortable with the game.
