I’m trying to play Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time on current hardware, but I’m facing significant sound problems. The sound keeps stuttering, going out of sync, or just won’t work at all. I’ve attempted playing it on a Mac, but since the Mac version is 32-bit only, that didn’t work. I also tried Windows 8, 10, and 11 on three different PCs, but no luck there either. I even experimented with emulating Windows XP and 98, but the sound issues persist. I attempted to emulate Windows 95, but the game wouldn’t even launch. Interestingly, the QuickTime audio files play just fine in QuickTime Player, but in the game, they sound terrible. It seems that the game uses a custom version of QuickTime that isn’t really cooperating with the setups I’ve tried. I just want to revisit my favorite point-and-click game!

You should definitely check out GOG; they have the entire Journeyman series available. They’ve updated the games to run better on modern systems, including double the video resolution compared to the original CD version. It might be worth purchasing it again for a smoother experience!
I’m kind of hesitant about paying for it again since I already own the Mac and Windows CD versions. I just hope it works!
