I used to have an AMD RX 550 graphics card paired with my FreeSync monitor, but I’ve recently upgraded to a GTX 1070ti. Now, while gaming, especially in Elden Ring, I can’t help but notice significant screen tearing, which is really bugging me. I want to know if there’s a way to fix this issue without spending any money. If there isn’t a workaround, I might consider swapping the 1070ti for an AMD card instead. Here are my specs: My monitor model is LF24T350FHNXZA with FreeSync enabled, but I can only set it to 74.89Khz in Windows, even though it can handle 83.9Khz. It doesn’t appear on the list of Nvidia G-Sync compatible monitors either. I’m running an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and I’m on Windows 11. I’m curious to know whether I should leave FreeSync ON or OFF, and if adjusting Nvidia latency settings or enabling Vertical Sync would help. Any guidance would be appreciated!

You might want to check if G-Sync can be enabled for your setup. Sometimes it works even if your monitor isn’t officially listed as compatible with G-Sync. So, give that a shot!
A good trick is to set your maximum framerate to about 90% of what your monitor can handle. Make sure you have Vsync ON and FreeSync ON as well. This combination often helps to reduce tearing significantly!
What’s the reason behind capping the frame rate at 90% specifically?
Thanks for the tip, I’m definitely checking those settings!
I tried, but the option just doesn’t appear in the Nvidia control panel.
