I’ve just downloaded God of War Ragnarök, but I’m experiencing some frustrating audio stuttering issues. The sound keeps cutting in and out every few seconds, and it’s really affecting my gameplay. I’ve tried various fixes including different versions of Proton, disabling WiFi power management from the developer settings, turning off the FPS limit in the Deck settings, using XeSS to upscale, and even switching the audio to mono. Does anyone have any other suggestions that might help resolve this?

I recently had similar audio problems, and I found a thread that was super helpful. It suggested pairing Bluetooth headphones, going into audio settings in desktop mode, and changing the codec for your headphones before launching the game. This fix improved my situation, but the audio bug can still pop up during intense gameplay. Worth a try!
Try turning off Steam Recording; I heard it can cause cracking sounds in games, which might explain your stutters. Also, check if your adaptive brightness is causing FPS spikes. A few players reported that turning off overlays helped as well. If you’re using Proton, give GE-Proton a shot for better performance!
I ran into the same stuttering issue on PC, so it doesn’t seem to be just a Deck problem. One thing that worked for me was putting the audio on mono, which seemed to help! But I see you’re looking for a fix specifically for the Deck. Hang in there!
Thanks for the tip! I’m definitely going to give that a shot.
What do you mean by “changing the codec”? I’d love to try that ASAP!
