Hey everyone! I’m trying to roleplay as a solo unarmed monk in Baldur’s Gate 3, and I’m running into a bit of a challenge. I’m supposed to blow up the purple tanks on the nautiloid to take out some illithid and demons, but I usually light a crossbow with a candle to do that. Since I can’t use weapons or magic as a monk, I’m stuck. I’ve tried throwing a lit axe and even a candle, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any clever tricks for igniting the tanks without using a weapon or magic?

Why not just grab a crossbow? There are a couple sitting on the corpses near where you first fight the imps with Laezel. Just keep in mind that since you’re going for an unarmed monk playthrough, that might not be the best option for you!
If you’ve got a candle during this part, try punching the tank to reveal its surface, then you can place your lit candle on it as a free action to ignite it! Works like a charm!
Ahh the ol’ Shadowheart martyrdom strategy! She will be missed!
Yeah, but using a crossbow goes against the whole unarmed thing! Monks aren’t really proficient with ranged weapons anyway.
