I’ve been thinking about how Level 11 in Helldivers could evolve to be more engaging and challenging, not just by increasing the number of enemies, but by making them smarter. Level 10 is decent, but it often feels like it relies too much on enemy types and situations. I propose introducing a Collective Hivemind AI system that would allow enemies to adapt to player strategies, take advantage of squad movements, and set traps dynamically. For example, imagine a new type of enemy: a scorpion-like bug with metallic skin and glowing red eyes that coordinates the horde. If players manage to defeat this enemy, it could disrupt the entire hivemind, causing enemies to act more randomly. Also, I think there should be mini colossi introduced to add some mini-boss battles to the mix. The focus of Level 11 should not just be on making players win but on constantly challenging them, creating a game where they are always on their toes without feeling overwhelmed. How do you all feel about this idea?

Interesting thoughts! I agree that smarter AI could definitely enhance gameplay, but I’m worried it might affect performance. The last AI update caused some serious frame rate drops, so let’s hope the devs can balance that better this time!
Why not just focus on refining the existing levels? Adding more damage to enemies or increasing their health drastically might be a simpler fix than creating an entirely new AI system.
True, but just upping the stats can get boring fast. We need more innovative ways to make things challenging without just throwing more enemies at us.
Do we really need an 11th difficulty? Level 10 is already tough. I think just enhancing the levels we have might be the way to go instead of complicating things further.
I’d have to disagree! Level 10 doesn’t really push all players. There should be a way to keep challenging high-level players without making it unfair for the casuals.
I think adding more enemy types with unique abilities could spice things up! Instead of just ramping up numbers, varied and tougher foes would keep us on our toes.
Exactly! And making objectives deeper and less repetitive would elevate the challenge without making it just about more enemies.
While the idea is ambitious, implementing smarter AI for many enemies could lead to major performance issues. It’s not easy to optimize. Higher difficulty could also stem from tougher objectives rather than just AI improvements.
I see your point. Maybe it’s about finding a balance between smarter bosses and meaningful objectives. Both could work together for a better challenge!
True, but good AI can lead to more strategic gameplay. Maybe they can optimize it? It would be a shame to let a few drops keep them from making the game more engaging!
