Hey everyone! I’m getting back into Warhammer 40k and I’m a bit confused about the terrain cover rules, especially regarding line of sight and cover benefits. I’ve tried going through some apps and videos, but I still have some questions. Here’s what I’m wondering:
1. If I have a unit of 5 models and only one of them is visible from behind a wall, do the others still get the cover benefit since they’re obscured?
2. If 4 out of the 5 models are within the base of the ruin, does that mean the last visible guy also gets to benefit from cover? Or do wounds get allocated first to those inside the cover?
3. Do we need to agree on ruin rules before the game? Like whether shooting through windows counts and how high the ruins need to be to block line of sight from larger models like Titans?

It sounds like you’re mixing up a couple of concepts. When a model is only partially visible, it doesn’t automatically mean they’re getting cover. For cover benefits, it depends on specific terrain rules. For ruins, it’s clear: a model needs to either be wholly within the ruin or not fully visible to the attacking unit to get cover. So your models inside the ruin footprint would definitely get the cover bonus if they’re not all visible to the shooters!
Got it, thanks for clarifying that!
