I’ve started playing Minecraft again and set up a realm with some friends. However, today when I tried to join, it said I needed to reinstall Bedrock. Java isn’t having this issue. When I clicked to install, it got stuck on ‘waiting on install’ for over 40 minutes! I’ve tried restarting both the launcher and my laptop, and even opening the game directly from the app. It opened, but then I got another message saying I need to update before joining the realm. However, I can’t update because it just loops back to the endless install. The app store only has a ‘get’ option that’s greyed out. On top of that, I noticed the update prompt showed I’d joined the realm but it still wouldn’t let me in. A friend of mine had similar troubles but launching from the app worked for her. I’m really stuck here; does anyone have any suggestions?

Ugh, I’m in the same boat! I’ve tried everything: clearing the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling on different drives, and even repairing the game. Nothing seems to work. It feels like we’re just stuck for no reason!
Just a tip: make sure every piece of software including Windows and the Store app are updated before anything else. Doing this might help clear up some of those install issues. I had to do that too once!
Same here! It’s been over an hour for me too. I just wish I knew if it’s a connection issue or just the update process. Such a headache!
I totally get your frustration; it’s super annoying. I had the same issue! What worked for me was making sure my Windows was fully updated first. After that, I checked the Microsoft Store to see if there were any updates for the Store app itself. Once everything was good there, I checked for game updates in the Store and it finally let me install the game again without getting stuck!
Yeah, it’s really frustrating! If you can, maybe keep trying different things while waiting for the install to go through.
