Hey everyone! I’m a newbie to PC gaming and I recently built a pretty powerful system, but I’m facing a major problem with screen tearing in every game I play, like WoW Classic and Overwatch 2. Here’s my setup:
– **Case:** Antec C5 ARGB WHITE
– **CPU:** Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 8 cores, up to 5.0 GHz
– **Graphics Card:** RTX 5080 16GB BLACK
– **Motherboard:** B850 DDR5, integrated WiFi & Bluetooth
– **RAM:** 32GB DDR5 6000MHz
– **Power Supply:** 850W 80 Plus Gold
– **SSD:** 2000GB NVMe
– **Liquid Cooler:** 360mm AIO
– **Operating System:** Windows 11 Pro 64-bit
– **Monitor:** Gigabyte G32QCA connected via DP cable.
I’ve tried enabling and disabling G-Sync, lowering my refresh rate from 165Hz to 144Hz, and making sure all my drivers are up to date, but the tearing issue just won’t go away. It’s making gaming really frustrating. Any suggestions would be awesome!

You might want to check out getting a higher refresh rate monitor. I had awful tearing on my 4090 with a 165Hz monitor, but when I switched to a 240Hz one, everything became super smooth. It could make a huge difference!
Setting the frame limiter to about -3 FPS from your monitor’s refresh rate usually works wonders. After that, if tearing persists, you might want to enable fast sync or V-Sync. Good luck!
Tried that too, and it did improve things somewhat, but the tearing hasn’t fully gone away. Thanks for your help though!
Try opening the Nvidia control panel and set a frame limiter about 3 FPS less than your monitor’s refresh rate. Make sure you enable both G-Sync and V-Sync to see if that helps!
I gave that a try, and while it helped a bit, the tearing’s still hanging around. Appreciate the input!
If that’s my only option, I might just give it a shot. Thanks a bunch!
