I recently factory reset my Steam Deck to clean it up and installed Decky for MTP access to easily get to my files. However, I’m facing two main problems. First, Emudeck isn’t running – it seems like it installed correctly, but it just closes when I try to launch it. I’m not sure if there’s a setting I need to adjust or if there’s an install issue. Second, since the reset, my Steam Deck won’t shut down properly when I press the power button. The screen turns off for a moment, but then the backlight turns back on, and I can’t wake it up unless I force a reset by holding the power button. Any suggestions on how to fix these issues?

Honestly, I’ve found Emudeck to be pretty hit-or-miss. If you’ve got some Linux experience, it might be easier to set up emulators manually rather than dealing with the quirks of Emudeck.
You might want to try reinstalling Emudeck. It could be that the initial install didn’t go smoothly, and a fresh install might help resolve the closing issue.
I’ll give that a shot and see if it helps!
It sounds like your Emudeck installation might not be complete. Usually, there should be an interface to add emulators and reset configurations. I suggest you reinstall it and see if you get that screen. Good luck!
Yeah, I’m definitely leaning towards reinstalling. It seemed odd that there were no folders for the emulators I was looking for.
I was using RetroArch before, but I hit a wall with PS2 emulation. I figured I’d give Emudeck a chance, but I guess I’ll weigh my options!
