I recently got back into Minecraft and decided to try using shaders to boost the graphics. I’m using Iris & Sodium with the Complementary Shaders, but I’m experiencing severe frame rate drops and it’s really hindering gameplay. I’m running a 2080 Ti GPU and an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D CPU with 6 cores. Does anyone know of a less demanding shader or have any tips to improve my performance? Any advice would really help me out!

Complementary Shaders are some of the heavier options. You might want to look at the Chocapic13 shaders, which are more performance-friendly. Additionally, ensure that your game’s allocated RAM is adequate because shaders can use more RAM when rendering. Bumping it up in your launcher settings might just do the trick.
Hey! Given your setup, you should be getting decent frames. Try checking if you have any unnecessary background apps running, as they can hog resources. Also, consider lowering the resolution and see if it improves performance. Complementary Shaders can be demanding, but reducing settings like shadows and render distance within the shaders can also help.
If you’re looking for something less demanding, try the Sildur’s Shaders. They’re pretty light and still look great. Also, make sure your graphics drivers are up to date, as it can make a big difference. Sometimes it’s as simple as that! Good luck!
