I’ve recently bought three different headsets trying to get voice chat to work on my Xbox Series S, but no luck at all! I’m currently using Turtle Beach Stealth 500. I can hear game sound and other players fine, but they can’t hear me. Plus, the audio and music settings are completely greyed out. I’ve tried both wired and wireless headsets, and I even have the Elite 2 controller. Does anyone have any advice or solutions for this?

First off, check if you’re comms banned. It sounds weird, but it’s possible! Also, with your Turtle Beach headset, remember that the mic flips up to mute and down to unmute. Are you sure you’re logged into the right account? If you’ve connected the headset to one account and switched to another, that could definitely cause issues. If the options are greyed out, it might be because your headset’s software is managing the audio instead of the Xbox itself.
It seems more like an account issue than a headset problem since you’re facing it with both wired and wireless options. Have you checked your privacy settings? Sometimes, if there are restrictions on your account or if parental controls are activated, it could block voice communication. Also, make sure you don’t have any comm bans active.
