Has anyone else had a strange issue like mine? I was playing Baldur’s Gate 3 when the game suddenly crashed without any error message. After that, I noticed that the game wasn’t showing up anymore, and even more concerning, my SSD seems to be gone! It’s not listed among my drives, and rebooting my PC didn’t fix it. Could my SSD have failed on me, or is there something worse going on?

Yeah, I’ve had something similar happen. It might be that the SSD controller died, which can happen. I’d suggest replacing it or trying to recover your data if you can!
It’s also worth looking into whether your motherboard is recognizing the SSD at all. If not, then it could be a motherboard issue instead. Do you have another PC to test it on?
That definitely sounds like your SSD might have failed. It’s possible that the crash caused some sort of issue. However, you should check the connections inside your PC, sometimes they can come loose. Also, try connecting it to another computer if you can, that might help you figure out what’s going on.
What does it mean if the controller died? I didn’t think it could happen so soon.
