Hey everyone, I really need some help here! My PS4 has been acting up lately. Last night, I was chatting with friends while playing Minecraft, but after about 30 minutes, it started sounding like a jet engine and overheated. I shut it down, but when I tried turning it back on, nothing happened. The orange light is flashing, and the console is still warm. I let it rest overnight and cleaned the vents and fan with a makeup brush and a Clorox wipe. It’s now the second day, and it’s still blinking and warm, but the controllers have a constant blue light. What’s going on? How can I fix it? Is it even fixable?

Honestly, if it overheated that much, there could be serious damage like to the HDD. If you’ve got an old HDD or an SSD lying around, you could try swapping it out. But if it’s too far gone, it might be better to invest in a PS5 instead of spending a bunch on repairs.
It sounds like your PS4 is in a weird state, still using power even though it’s off. Try unplugging it from the outlet and letting it cool down completely before plugging it back in. That blinking light means it’s not responding, so giving it a good reset might help. Just be sure you give it enough time!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’m just worried about unplugging it—what if something gets messed up? But I appreciate the help!

Yeah, this is my first issue with it. I’m not really tech savvy and just figuring out how to do things has been hard. Money is tight too, so trading it in for a PS5 sounds tempting.
