Hey everyone, I’m feeling really overwhelmed right now. I’m new to exploring the insides of PCs and recently decided to reseat some components, which I’ve done countless times before. However, this time, after checking under the cooler, I turned my PC back on and it started beeping without posting at all. The fans are running at full speed and there’s a green light labeled ‘AUX’ on the motherboard. I’m really hoping someone can help me figure this out!

You might need to share more about what you removed and reconnected. It’s unusual to reseat things for no reason, so any specifics there would help. If you aren’t getting any visual output or BIOS code, there’s likely a connection issue. Also, check if your motherboard has troubleshooting LEDs; they can be a big clue to what’s going wrong!
Make sure to look for any bent pins in your CPU socket or check connections for any loose cables. The AUX light usually means your PSU is supplying power. A trick I’ve seen work is to turn everything off, even the PSU, and then turn it back on while spamming some keys. It’s worth a shot! Good luck!
I’ve heard that trick can sometimes make a difference. Fingers crossed for you!
First things first, take a deep breath! You definitely can survive without your PC for a bit. It sounds like your motherboard isn’t detecting something important that’s been unplugged. Make sure to recount the beeps – they can indicate specific issues. Check your motherboard manual to see what those beeps mean. If you removed the cooler, double-check that the cooler is securely connected and that all nearby cables are in place. Just keep calm, you can sort this out!
Agreed, staying calm is key. And remember, too, if it’s not detecting a CPU fan, that could be a real issue!
