Hey folks,
I’m in a tough spot with my Minecraft account and I’m really seeking some help. My parents got me Minecraft back in 2015, and I was good to go until 2020 when I decided to change the email on my account. I did save the confirmation email for that change, just in case. I took a break from playing until 2025, and when I tried to log back in, I found out my account is linked to a different email now.
I checked it out and noticed that my username and skin had changed, which made me realize my account must have been hacked in 2021 while I was away. Looking back, I think it might be related to a server I logged onto that asked for a password. I won’t name names, but it was a server that seemed trustworthy at the time.
I reached out to Mojang support with all the info I had like my old username, the email change confirmation, and screenshots from NameMC showing my old and new account details, but they’re saying they can’t help because I don’t have access to the email linked to my account now and I don’t have the transaction number since my parents bought it years ago. They aren’t accepting my proof.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there any glimmer of hope for recovering my account? Or should I just accept that it’s a lost cause?

Unfortunately, it sounds like a lost cause. A lot of people ran into similar issues during the Mojang-Microsoft migration. Without access to the email or proof of purchase, it’s tough to get any help from them. I’ve heard of many others losing their accounts for similar reasons, so you’re not alone in this.
Yeah, same here! I lost my original account too and I’m still shocked how they managed to brush off so many players without viable proof. It just feels unfair!
