Hey fellow gamers! I’m having some issues with stuttering while playing a few of my favorite games. My setup is an i5 11400F, a 4060 GPU, and 16GB of RAM. I mainly play Dead by Daylight, Hearthstone, CS2, Diablo IV, and sometimes PUBG. CS2 runs smoothly, but the other games tend to stutter from time to time. My GPU temperatures hover around 50-60°C and my CPU is at about 60-65°C, so I don’t think overheating is the issue. I’m curious if upgrading to 32GB of RAM would help with this stutter, or if there’s something else I should consider. Also, I was wondering if the AK400 digital cooler is worth it since my stock cooler sounds like a jet engine at times. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Adding more RAM typically won’t resolve stuttering unless your system is constantly paging data to disk. A lot of times, stuttering in games can be caused by other factors like background processes or drivers that might need updating. You might want to look into optimizing your settings or checking for any software that could be interfering with performance.
In today’s gaming environment, 32GB is becoming the new norm while 16GB was the go-to not too long ago. You might want to check if your RAM is running in single-channel mode – if you have 2x8GB, that should be fine. Single-channel can hurt performance, especially in some games. Also, keep an eye on your RAM’s usage during gameplay – if it’s maxing out, then adding more might be beneficial!
Thanks for the tip! I do have 2x8GB, so hopefully that helps. I’ll check my RAM usage next time I play.
