I’m trying to track down an indie game that I heard about last year but can’t quite remember the name. It’s an RPG that feels like a choose-your-own-adventure style and has a user interface that resembles a book. The setting seems to be some sort of medieval renaissance, and the story kicks off with a letter informing you that your master has passed away, leaving you a book filled with occult secrets. I believe there are geometric patterns involved, which could be part of the puzzles in the game. I’ve searched a lot but haven’t had any luck – and I’m sure it isn’t The Book of Hours. Does this ring a bell for anyone?

Could it be *The Cryptmaster*? I’ve heard some good things about that one.
What about *The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales*? It was released in 2023 and could fit your description!
I don’t think that’s it. I need something more text-based with a medieval backdrop. But hey, *The Bookwalker* does look intriguing!
It sounds a bit like *Strange Horticulture*, although that might not be exactly it. It has a different vibe but could be adjacent in style.
Nah, it’s not *Strange Horticulture*. I’m looking for something more text-based, like *Roadwarden*.
Thanks, everyone! I managed to find it after digging through my Google history. It’s called *49 Keys*. The story is about inheriting a mysterious legacy from my late master. Appreciate all the suggestions!

Nope, not that one! But *Cryptmaster* does seem cool. I love the dungeon and wordplay themes.
