Help me remember a retro turn-based game with marines and orks

-

I’m trying to recall the name of a turn-based game I played back in the 90s. It was set in the future and I remember it featuring gameplay where you could capture buildings during missions to earn research points for upgrades between levels. I’m a bit hazy on some details, but I think it involved a conflict between humans and orks or similar creatures. I considered that it might be connected to Warhammer 40K, particularly ‘Final Liberation’, but that’s not the one. I also have a vague recollection of some snowy scenarios. Any help would be appreciated!

Have you tried X-Com? It has a similar turn-based style, but focuses more on aliens than orks. It might not be the exact match you’re looking for, but it’s definitely a classic from that era!

Hey! That’s an amazing series but not what I’m looking for. Thanks!

You might be thinking of ‘Warhammer 40K: Rites of War’ that came out in 1999. While it doesn’t actually have orks or space marines, it does feature factions like Eldar and Imperial Guard. It’s a solid guess, but if orks were a key part of your memory, it might not be the right one. Still, worth a look!
