I’m looking for some advice on which game to buy as a gift. I’ve narrowed it down to four popular titles: Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima, and The Witcher 3. I’d love to hear your opinions on these games and any recommendations you might have based on their fantastic qualities. Just to give you some context, the person I’m buying for enjoys games like Cyberpunk, Mass Effect, Persona, Fallout: New Vegas, Dishonored, Indiana Jones, Splinter Cell, and Oblivion. If you have other suggestions too, I’d be open to that!

For someone who enjoys sci-fi, I’d suggest you look at other options too. Maybe Space Marine 2 could be a hit? But if you wanna stick to your list, Elden Ring would be awesome, but just know it’s on the harder side. Horizon is cool too, but it leans more on the medieval side of sci-fi!
If I had to choose, I’d say The Witcher 3 gives you the best value for your money! The world is huge and there’s just so much to do and explore. But if your gift recipient enjoys older styles, they might appreciate the nostalgia with it! Also, heads up, some parts can feel slow due to all the quests!
Definitely consider Ghost of Tsushima! It’s visually stunning and the gameplay is so smooth. Just make sure they haven’t played the first Horizon game, since Forbidden West is a sequel and would be a little confusing otherwise. Plus, lady hunting dinosaurs is a unique twist!
Elden Ring and Ghost of Tsushima are both epic choices! Just a heads up, Elden Ring is tough and might not be the best for someone who’s not super into gaming. But once it clicks for you, it’s pure magic! Ghost is a more accessible option, and gives an amazing story-driven experience!
Honestly, all four games are top-notch! But if I had to rank them for you, I’d say:
1. Elden Ring – It’s tough but incredibly rewarding once you get the hang of it.
2. Ghost of Tsushima – Super immersive and a solid single-player experience.
3. The Witcher 3 – So much to offer, just be ready for quests that can be a bit tedious sometimes.
4. Horizon Forbidden West is good too, but it helps if they’ve played the first one to really appreciate it!
Thanks for the ranking! I’ll keep that in mind. This is for someone who’s into sci-fi as well. So maybe I’d focus on the first three with Elden Ring at the top.
Great point! I’ll double-check if they played the first one. Sounds like they might prefer the samurai experience of Ghost of Tsushima.
