I recently tried VR gaming for the first time at school using the HTC Vive Cosmos Elite, and I absolutely loved it! Now I’m looking to purchase a VR headset myself. While I’m leaning towards the HTC Vive Cosmos Elite, I’ve heard a lot of people recommending the Quest 3 instead. My main concern is about using it for PC games since I’m not sure how it handles PCVR or Virtual Desktop. My computer specs are an AMD R7 5700X, 32GB RAM, and an RTX 4060 Ti. Can someone with experience help me understand the pros and cons of both headsets, and give me some advice on how to make a choice that I won’t regret?

I play on a Valve Index, and honestly, I just can’t find the Quest 3 enjoyable for my needs. If you’re looking for the ultimate experience and can afford a higher-end setup, maybe wait for something like the Deckard headset rumored to drop soon. I’ve got around 4000 hours in VR and personally find the Index unbeatable right now.
Honestly, the Quest 3 is currently the best headset on the market, no contest. It’s super versatile and the wireless PCVR experience is a game changer if you have a decent setup. Even if you’re mostly into PC games, it handles them really well!
Exactly! They sell it at a deep discount, making it hard for others to compete.
If money is tight, just go for the Quest 3. There will always be something better in the future, but you’ll get a really good headset for the price. Plus, you can always upgrade later!
Will I get a great experience? Can I even play Half-Life Alyx on it? Is the quality impressive?
I only use my Quest 3 for PCVR unless there’s an exclusive game that I can’t resist!
