I’ve been playing for years and ended up with a huge list of characters, about 30 between levels 60-80. Thanks to events and boosts, max-leveling is super quick now, but I realized I don’t really connect with most of them or know how to play them well. So I deleted almost all of them except my Human Warlock (main since Wrath), Orc Hunter (my first), Tauren Warrior (just love Taurens), and Panda Monk (feels right for that class). Now I want to fill out my slots with exactly one character per class, each with the race that fits best lore-wise or just feels right — but no race duplicates since I already have Orc Hunter and others. For example, I can’t do Orc Shaman because I already have an Orc Hunter. What race-class combos would you suggest to make a rounded, lore-appropriate team?

I’d go with Night Elf for your Druid since they’re basically the iconic druid race in lore. For Death Knight, Forsaken feels right and keeps that dark vibe. Demon Hunter? Blood Elf is your best bet for lore accuracy. Mage could be a Gnome if you want something fun and fitting. Paladin would work well with Zandalari Troll or Dwarf to avoid overlap with Human and Tauren. Priest is classic Draenei. For Rogue, Worgen meshes well lore-wise. And Shaman? Goblin or Kul Tiran would give a nice twist without repeating Orcs or Tauren.
Since you’ve got Human Warlock, Orc Hunter, Tauren Warrior, and Panda Monk, that’s a cool start! For other classes, Night Elf Druids are iconic, no doubt. Maybe try Undead Death Knight for that undead punch. Demon Hunter is tied heavily to Blood Elves lore-wise, so that fits. Mages are classic as Blood Elf or Gnome, but I’d lean Gnome to keep race variety. Paladins work well as Dwarves or Zandalari Trolls, both solid lore picks. Priests could be Draenei for the holy vibe. Worgen Rogues fit the stealthy side nicely, and Shamans could be Goblins or Kul Tirans. That roster is well-rounded and keeps things lore-friendly without repeating races.
I love the idea of sticking to the lore-friendly combo and no race repeats for classes! You basically covered the big ones, but a couple ideas: Kul Tiran Warriors instead of Tauren for a slightly fresh feel, or Dracthyr Evoker for a new-age class and race mix. But if you want to stick with your favorites, what you have is solid, then fill out the rest with the usual lore race-class ties like Night Elf Druids, Forsaken Death Knights, Blood Elf Demon Hunters, Gnome Mages, Dwarf or Zandalari Paladins, Draenei Priests, Worgen Rogues, and Goblin or Kul Tiran Shamans. That way you get variety and keep it feeling authentic.
Great suggestions! I like the idea of Goblin Shamans and Worgen Rogues, makes a lot of sense.
