I recently started playing Oblivion: Remastered and followed the main quest up until the moment I needed to escort Martin and Jauffre to Cloud Ruler Temple. Instead, I got sidetracked by the Arena and various Guild quests, enjoying the gameplay without them trailing behind. However, during the Bruma Recommendation quest, I made a big mistake. I instructed Martin to wait in a specific room to avoid him and Jauffre interrupting my sneaky stealing attempts. Now, after the Bruma Guild was destroyed, I can’t access them. The game still shows them in Bruma, but since I’ve moved on, they seem glitched out. My plan is to complete everything else and create a new character just to finish the main quest. TLDR: classic Oblivion moment—don’t tell Martin to wait in a quest-critical location!

Sounds like a real mess, haha! You’ve probably ended up in one of those alternate timelines where you’ve doomed everyone by leaving them at the guild right before it blew up. But hey, at least now you have an entertaining story about how not to handle critical NPCs!
Definitely! And it’s still a funny story to tell. Just remember to keep those saves handy next time!
Losing them like that is classic Oblivion! But for the future, if you ever find yourself in a similar jam, maybe try using some console commands to teleport them back to you—if you’re on PC. Just remember that using cheats could affect your achievements!
For sure! But yeah, if you really want to maintain achievements, maybe just reload an earlier save and save yourself the headache.
100%! Plus, you learn the hard way that saving often is vital in Bethesda games. It’s practically a rite of passage!
Honestly, this situation is kind of hilarious considering how that quest setup is. It really feels like a ‘what not to do’ guide. Just make sure next time you either drop them off at their destination or be cautious when they’re waiting in questionable spots.
I mean, it’s all part of the charm of Oblivion! But yeah, lesson learned for sure!
Couldn’t agree more! The NPCs can make or break your questline, and leaving them hanging like that? Not ideal!
You know, it’s wild you didn’t just drop them at Cloud Ruler Temple instead. That’s a perfect break point to not feel pressured by the main quest! I usually do all the guild stuff and then wrap it up, almost feels like the game’s designed for that kind of pacing.
Seriously! I feel you, though; I did the same before realizing how crucial those NPCs are. It’s part of the fun chaos of Oblivion. But honestly, why leave them waiting when they could help you with Mannimarco?
Exactly! It felt intentional to drop them and go exploring. I guess it’s a test of how much chaos we can handle in the game, right?
Right? At least you’re not the only one! We’ve all been there where we thought we’d have some fun before getting back to the main quest.
