I’ve hit a wall trying to fix Cyberpunk 2077 freezing on the intro screen. I just picked up the game fresh from Steam, and there are no mods or DLC involved. Other games run without a hitch on my system. I’m using Linux Mint with a GTX 1070 and Ryzen 2600, plus 16GB of RAM (though it’s at a low frequency of 2400). I’ve also attempted launch options to bypass the launcher and intro movie, but it doesn’t help—I’ll hear the soundtrack, but it freezes when the logo comes up. Any suggestions?

For GTX 10XX users, the latest Proton you should be using is 7.0-6 or GE-Proton 7-42. Just in case you missed that option!
Have you tested out different versions of Proton or GE-Proton? Some users found that changing between the newer and older versions can help resolve compatibility issues. It’s worth trying!
For NVIDIA users, I’ve come across some suggested launch options that might help. Have you tried using `%command% –intro-skip -skipStartScreen –launcher-skip`? That could potentially work for you. Check out ProtonDB for more details too!
Yeah, I’ve tried a bunch of different launch options from ProtonDB, including those. Unfortunately, it still freezes when it shows the “CD Projekt Red” logo and crashes a few minutes later.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I’ve experimented with several Proton versions already. I tried the experimental, 9, and 8 versions, but I don’t have Proton-GE.
