Hey everyone, I ran into a problem after my Mac updated last night. When I tried to open Sims 3 today, it prompted me to download the game again. I checked my files, and it looks like they’re all gone from my computer! I can see the Sims 3 folder, but everything inside—like my Saves and Downloads—has a gray cloud icon next to it. What should I do?

You can also just right-click the folder in iCloud and select “download now” or “keep downloaded.” It’s a simple fix, nothing catastrophic has happened!
So I had a similar issue! I couldn’t find my game in the iCloud folder after the update, and it just seemed to vanish. However, I remembered I initially downloaded it onto an external hard drive and then copied it to my desktop. I did that again, and now my game is working perfectly! Not sure what happened to the original game file, though.
It sounds like your game files might have been moved to iCloud during the backup. Games usually look for their files in a specific path, like User > Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 3. Check your iCloud for your Sims 3 folder and try moving everything back to its original location. You might be good after that!
Thanks for the tip! I actually found my Sims 3 folder in iCloud and moved everything back. But I still can’t find the actual game—any ideas?
