I’m really struggling with the latest PS5 software update. I’ve reset my console completely, but each time I try to log in, it prompts me to update the software. Unfortunately, it always fails and sends my PS5 into safe mode, leaving me stuck in a frustrating loop. I’ve attempted updates via both Wi-Fi and USB and have even cleared caches and rebuilt databases. I downloaded the reinstallation file onto a USB as instructed, but every attempt fails. Can someone please help or provide some guidance on what I’m doing wrong?

I see you’re having a tough time! First, make sure to check the error code you’re getting—this can be crucial. You mentioned CE-100095-5; that’s usually related to the update process failing. Some users suggest trying to boot into safe mode and selecting the ‘Reinstall System Software’ option directly after formatting the USB drive, but ensure you’re using the correct file. It’s also worth trying a different USB if you have one around, as sometimes the drive can cause issues. Keep us posted!
Also, double-check if your USB is formatted to FAT32. That’s the only format PS5 supports for updates!
Sounds frustrating! Since you’ve reset your PS5, it might be worth trying to connect it via a different network. Sometimes network settings can interfere with downloads. If you have access to a friend’s Wi-Fi, give that a go. Additionally, check that your console is getting reliable power—if there’s any flicker or interruptions, that could lead to problems during updates.
I’ll try a different network, thanks for that idea!
Also, consider reaching out to PlayStation Support. They might have specific insights for this kind of issue.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll give it a shot with a different USB and see if it helps.
