I recently got banned from Overwatch’s competitive mode because my game keeps crashing. I’m running on an Nvidia 550 graphics card with Wayland and Gnome 47, using GE-Proton9-25. Any tips on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated!

It might help to update to Nvidia 570 driver to see if it resolves those crashes, but I’m not totally sure without more specific info or logs. Just be cautious because it can break dependencies on Manjaro!
I think you might want to provide a bit more detail about your setup. What distro are you using? What’s your CPU and GPU? Are you running Overwatch through Steam flatpak or Lutris? Also, were you using any cheats or having other applications running while playing?
I wouldn’t have posted if I was cheating! I’m on Manjaro using a GTX 3060 Ti and a Ryzen 9, running the normal Steam without any special apps or Gamescope.
Could you clarify why you’re using such an old Nvidia driver? A lot of users find that updating can resolve crashes. Also, make sure to check if your graphics card is actually a GTX 550 or something else; I’ve seen confusion there before!
Yeah, it’s pretty common to get those model numbers mixed up. Better double-check your specs!
I actually have a GTX 3060, so I’m not sure why people think it’s too old!
You could also look for a Proton/WINE version that’s tailored specifically for Overwatch. It might help improve stability and prevent those crashes!
Updating does break dependencies for some, and I’m worried it could mess up my system. I think it’s more of an issue with the new Proton and Wayland, honestly.
