I’m struggling to set up my Steam Deck because it won’t connect to WiFi. When I reach the part to select my network, it just doesn’t work. I’ve already tried rebooting both my internet gear and the Steam Deck itself, plus I’ve messed around with the IP and subnet mask settings. Now I’m even attempting to use my phone’s hotspot, but the Steam Deck isn’t showing any available wireless networks. Is my device defective, or has anyone else experienced this problem and found a solution?

Honestly, it’s pretty frustrating that such an expensive device lacks straightforward support. Have you tried reaching out to Steam’s support page? They might have more in-depth troubleshooting steps you can follow, and you’ll probably find others who had similar issues there too.
You’re definitely not alone with this WiFi issue! I’ve seen quite a few people facing similar challenges with their Steam Decks. A common fix is to check your WiFi frequency; make sure you’re trying to connect to a 2.4GHz network instead of 5GHz if available, as it tends to be more compatible. You might also want to reset your network settings on the Steam Deck itself. Hang in there, it should get sorted out!
Thanks for the tip about the frequency! I’ll give that a shot and see if it helps.
